Have you ever wanted to share your passions, experiences, or talents with the world through video? Have you ever dreamed of building a community of fans who support and engage with your content? If so, starting your own YouTube channel might be the perfect opportunity for you.
I know this because I recently started my own YouTube channel called Sanctum Oasis, and it has been a rewarding experience. In this article, I want to share my story and some tips that I learned along the way.
The first thing you need to know is that starting a YouTube channel is not difficult. All you need is a Google account, a camera or smartphone, and some basic video editing skills. There are many free resources online that can help you with the technical aspects of creating and uploading videos, so don’t worry if you are not a tech expert. For all my video editing I used the free version of Davinci Resolve, it was incredibly easy to use and fast because it utilizes the GPU to render out the final video.
The real challenge is coming up with ideas for your videos and building an audience. This is where your passion and creativity come into play. You need to find a niche that you are interested in and that you can provide unique and valuable content for. For example, if you love cooking, you can start a cooking channel and share your recipes and tips with your viewers. If you love traveling, you can start a travel vlog and take your viewers on virtual tours of different places around the world. In my case I used my art as a starting point, and made my own ambient music to go along with it. The result is a slow roll video of my art, all stitched together to make a 1 hour long video.
Once you have a clear idea of what your channel will be about, it’s time to start creating and uploading videos. This is where the fun begins! You can experiment with different formats, such as tutorials, vlogs, challenges, or Q&A sessions. You can also use a variety of tools and techniques to improve the quality of your videos, such as lighting, audio, or special effects. For example I added dust particles on my videos to give them more movement and life.
As you create and upload more videos, you will start to see some engagement from your viewers. They might leave comments, like your videos, or even subscribe to your channel. This is a great feeling, and it can motivate you to keep creating and improving.
However, building an audience on YouTube takes time and patience. You need to be consistent and persistent, and you need to engage with your viewers and listen to their feedback. You can also use social media and other platforms to promote your channel and reach a wider audience.
In conclusion, starting your own YouTube channel can be a fun and rewarding experience. It allows you to share your passions, experiences, and talents with the world, and it can also help you build a community of fans who support and engage with your content. All you need is a Google account, a camera or smartphone, and some basic video editing skills. With passion, creativity, and hard work, you can start your own YouTube channel and succeed in this exciting and dynamic platform.
