So this is turning out to be a long term project for me, every time some new technology arrives I go back and take another try at fixing this image. Initially I was contacted by a friend who was having trouble getting an old damaged photo restored, her family already had paid money to get it restored and the results were less than satisfactory. The following restoration was achieved by using a combination of Photoshop techniques and artificial intelligence to restore the faces.

AI is a powerful tool for photo restoration, giving it even completely missing areas of the picture it was was able to restore faces and clothes. I still do not consider this a final version, my goal it to get all sections restored then do the colorization as a final step and get it to a state where it is printable.
